An Excellent Collab!

I was surprised that less of this feels hit-and-miss in comparison to other collabs. When parts did fall flat, the pace and animation quality in most spots kept me in my seat. This also wrapped up more cleanly than most collaborations, and felt less self-congratulatory.

The girls in the loading screen are just as creepy as last time, though. Like heaving kewpie dolls. Cut that shit out, next time, and you got a purebred winner.

Meh.

This could have been a lot more scathing and insightful. I mean, does one really imagine that teenage girls, soccer moms, older folks, and all non-animators would visit Newgrounds over Youtube? Never mind all the mobile devices that don't utilize Flash. Since this is on Newgrounds, why does it feel so restrained and non-animated? Who is this for, exactly, and who is it going to lure to this site besides NG devotees?

The intentions were there. The music fit. That's all I can really say.

Clever and well executed.

The art style will get the commendation that it deserves, but I highly applaud your use of color, here. Too many submissions have great art but with little to haphazard attention to the color scheme.

Not only a clever idea, but executed in an original fashion and completely followed through creatively, and I love to see submissions devoid of what's normally seen here (not that there's anything INHERENTLY wrong with what is often seen on the site). Great choice of music, too. Can't think of any critiques off the bat, but I'm curious what you'll do with a project of greater length. Bravo.

Bleak-Creep responds:

Thank you very much. I plan on getting back into animating more often. I'd really like to do more experimental types of stories.

I would give you the benefit of the doubt...

...because I don't necessarily mind the art style. It simply needs more animation, and I think you'd develop something more your own (w/r/t visuals) over time. Obviously, it would work even better with actual vocal audio, but I understand the possibility of hardware limitations. I think your heart is in the right place, here. Keep it up!

Brilliant

Not caring about Halo, this really speaks to the outsider's perspective. I hope fans of the games aren't irritated by this, because this speaks to the fan frenzy of any product's release, albeit one pretty exclusive to one age demographic and gender (but not completely). This also speaks to the rewatchable quality of your best work. Simply... well, awesome.

Even better than the first.

I though making this a series would ruin the charm of the first, but this actually improves over the original.

Anime had this coming. I loved how Yusuke (sp?) switches sides at the drop of a hat, akin to many "deep" and "enigmatic" anime anti-heroes do. The music is spot-on dated and awful. Will we see those stupid angel wings sometime, or a dramatic character self-sacrifice (only to return, shortly after)? Awesome work.

Interesting.

A great compilation - each stride has a lot of personality.

I was curious about your song choice for the subject matter. I mean, I love Bob Dylan, but it seemed oddly placed. Not that it matters, really. A great song doesn't really hurt.

It's an intriguing show piece, and it'll easily bring you good fortune with your interviews.

Mogly responds:

Cheers mate.

Well the song is a bit of an odd choice, I fell in love with it when i saw 'Easy way out'. The relevance to my animation is only in the lyric 'things have changed', this animation covers a span of time.. therefore things have changed :).

Very original!

This is something different and inspiring to see on Newgrounds! The animation, themes, and audio all carried over really well. Sad, but life-affirming. How many flash animations can you say THAT about?

Well done.

Refreshingly disturbing.

A little disturbing, but hey, Disney has this coming.

I liked how you handled the mature humor in a really sardonic way. Nice animation, too. Kudos.

Nice work.

I like the idea for the film. It was definitely something worth making a film over, and you have the right approach in the simplicity of it all. I think the visuals could've used a little more work, but it's clear from your effort that you can definitely draw. Nice job.

Homeless responds:

Thankyou. I had to make this really fast though so I wont forget the details from my dream. I did the best that I could for two hours of work.
